The Role:

As our Estimator, you’ll bring both your hands-on fabrication experience and your proven ability to develop accurate, competitive estimates. Your understanding of welding techniques, materials, and project execution will set you apart, allowing you to craft estimates that are as realistic as they are competitive. This role is perfect for someone who started in fabrication and has transitioned into estimating but still values the technical depth that comes from time spent on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates for welding and fabrication projects, using both your technical and pricing experience.
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and client requirements to ensure a complete understanding of the scope of work.
  • Lead the tendering process, ensuring timely submissions that meet client needs and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and the shop floor team to gather the best insights for accurate estimates.
  • Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings to gain a thorough understanding of project constraints and requirements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, leveraging your fabrication knowledge for value engineering.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Significant experience in fabrication, welding, and materials, combined with a proven track record in estimating.
  • Successful preparation of estimates, tenders, and cost analyses for welding or fabrication projects.
  • A fabrication background that provides a deeper understanding of project complexities and how to manage them both technically and financially.
  • Comfortable in an office-based, Monday-to-Friday role but still values hands-on involvement through site visits and project oversight.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent numerical skills, and proficiency in estimation tools or software (e.g., [specific tools/software if applicable]).
